Can Missing A Shot Of Depo Cause Bleeding?

I have been on depo for about 4 years never had a period, I missed my last shot by one month took it on may 29 next one is due on august 29 for the past 2 days I have been bleeding bright red constantly. What could this be I never have bleed in the past 4 years?
