Can Morning After Pill Cause Positive Results In UPT?
I engaged in a sexual intercourse 10 days after my period past. I read that it take 12 days after your periods for you to be able to get pregnant. I then drank a morning after pill. Now I've missed my periods. I bought a Pregnancy Test and it came out positive. My question is whether after drank a morning pill, it can confuse your mensturation cycle and tell your body that you are pregnant??
The egg formation is 14 days before the next expected menses. The egg is alive for 24 hours and the sperms are active for 72 hours. Hence we consider 4 days before and after that as fertile period. So if your periods are of 28 days, day 10 to day 18 will be fertile period for you.
However, you have taken next morning contraceptive pill in the morning. These pills are very effective, though occasional failure is known.
If your urine pregnancy test is positive, the possibility of failure of the medicine and the occurrence of pregnancy is high. You can confirm it by either repeat test or ultrasonography.
If you do not want this pregnancy, you can get it terminated by medicines up to 9 weeks safely and legally. These medicines are not over the counter medicines. Take them with Obstetrician's advice only.
I hope I have resolved your query.
