Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have SCM and other neck muscle spasm and with worsening of this spasm after a bump on the head requiring staples, my bloodpressure was 180/105 initially. Only lowered to around 160/80 after 2 to 3 hours. My blood pressure usually is 100 to 120/60 to 70. Could this muscle spasm be behind the hogh BP?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Muscle spasm is not related to fluctuations in your blood pressure. Blood pressure increase could be due to your anxiety. You can take muscle relaxant medication like Diclofenac + Paracetamol + Chloroxazone tablet twice a day after food for 5 days. Also you can take Calcium supplement tablet along with it for 15 days. For your blood pressure, you need to get evaluated separately. Kindly get your blood pressure checked on two different occasions at rest. Also get ECG, echocardiogram and lipid profile done. Please consult Physician with reports for proper management. All the best.
