Celexa is sometimes used in patients with heart disease and in the elderly. If it is used it should be for a serious cause like severe depression or anxiety and it should be at a very low dose like 10 mg daily. Doses over 20 mg are never recommended for patients over 60 years old. If you have further questions consult her cardiologist about the safety of celexa in her case.
