Can Nasal Drainage And Sneezing On Eating Sugar Be Treated?

I have sever nasal draining and sneezing (5-20 times) after I eat sugar. It happens any time I eat too much sugar. I think of it as a sugar allergy as it happens every time, sometimes right after, sometimes the next day, depending on the rate of consumption. I love sweets and have tried for the last 5-10 years to find another answer, but it ALWAYS comes back to - sugar makes me sneeze. I have no other medical conditions. I sometimes sneeze once at sun, strong mints, but only rarely, not really pepper/peppers or any other food(I am a chef). I have tried antihistamines and they do not help. I don't want to stop eating sugar. Is there any cure, antidote, food balance?

Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

As you have chronic allergy problem so i would suggest you following two things:

> First, take montelukast once daily for one month. Research has shown that it decreases the incidence of allergy.
> Second, i would also suggest you to under go allergy testing at allergy clinic as you have chronic allergy problem. It will tell that you are allergic to what specific thing. The results will help an allergist to prescribe you immunotherapy to that specific allergen and it will improve the problem.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
