Can Nervousness Cause Welts To Break Out At Random Times?

My son is 11 and about 113 pounds, for the last week he has been breaking out with large welts at random times. Last night they covered the whole bicep, today it is under his chin. The day before it was on his cheeks. Last week he had these welts on his legs. We have not changed soaps of any kind. He has several things praying on his mind right now. Could this be related to him being nervous?
