Can not being repositioned while being on life-support for around two weeks cause nerve damage five weeks after cervical fusion? In 2016 I went into septic shock from pneumococcal pneumonia. This happened to be five weeks after cervical fusion of 5,6,and seven. In the few weeks prior to sepsis, I was back to normal activities very little pain. When I woke up from life-support, I had very little feeling in my hands. A little came back but they were basically just numb, no pain. My neck has severe and chronic pain in what I call my hump. Where you would see it in the hunchback of Notre Dame. I have went to many doctors and neurosurgeons, and was basically blown off. This year it has developed into unbearable pain in my thumbs . I was finally diagnosed this week with nerve damage, chronic and active radiculopathy at c 7. I just truly believe this happened while I was on life-support because before then I was fine and when I woke up, my hands were numb and my neck hurt. I just think it has gotten worse through the years. What do you think?
