Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can eating oats, two and a half heaped table spoons full a day change my stool colour to a very pale brown. I am eating this amount of oats hoping that this will help me pass my stools much easier without a great deal of straining on alternative days and not passing any thing on the other days.
Yes it is due to oat. If you suffer from constipation then there are other ways to get rid of it. Advice 1. Include fiber in your diet such as split peas, lentils, black beans, lima beans, sprouts, baked beans, raspberries, pears, apples, barley, bran flakes, and brown rice 2. Syrup Duphalac 2 teaspoonful per oral at bed time 3. Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily 4. Avoid straining while defecating 5. Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day 6. Avoid tea and coffee Thanks
