Can Obesity Or High Cholesterol Be A Cause For Low Blood Count?

Hello,Went to have my yearly wellness exam and my Cholesterol total is 237 LDL 156 My RBC is 3.10 and WBC is 2.3. Neutrophils 1.0 My vitamin D is 23.4. I don t feel sick other than not a lot of energy. I am also overweight. 5 4 196 lbs female. 54 years old. I am working on losing weight and eating healthy. Could my low blood count be due to being overweight and or high cholesterol? Thank you Dr.

Hello,

It is not related to obesity or high cholesterol. You can repeat the test to check whether the change persist or not. It the low blood cells persist, a peripheral smear test is required to look for other causes.
