General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I can understand your concern. Your mother though has diabetes & high blood pressure, her BP & blood sugar levles are excellent. THe problem bothering her at presen are due to arthritis, which is also natural for her age. The condition aggravating the problem is over weight. So the points for management of her health hence forward are, - continue the good control of diabetes/B.P. - try to control weight by controlled diet /yoga exercises that she can perform in sitting posture , involving all unaffected joints./ Pranayama, meditation - consult an orthopedic doctor for pain relief / calcium & vitamin D supplements as per need. -physiotherapy to alleviate the joint conditions.Continuous exercises advised by physiotherapist in real sense manage joint affection. She will definitely move independently after that. Thanks.
