Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve just been advised by my doctor that my only option to remove adenomysosis is a minor surgery (remove part of the uterus ) or a hysterectomy . the minor surgery has a 40% chance of me requiring to go down the hysterectomy path 6mths later. Not sure what to do and my biggest concern is impact to my sexual activity, can you tell me whether you can maintain libido after hysterectomy
Hi Thank for choosing, HCM, Hysterectomy & libido are not related with each others, libido is actually sex drive how you react with sex impulses you have how much you react with sexual component, how much you your self engage in sexual activity, hysterectomy & libido, it is least concern each others, uterus is reproductive organ which does not stimulates you for sex, neither it brings sex drive, sex drive happens in hypothalamus area & this area is controls by pituitary gland, so you need not worry even if you are hysterectomized, you can well maintain your libido, Enjoy your life.
