Actually i think the have exaggerated the underlying cause of pain which i think it could be cervical radiating pain due to nerve compression or mild disc bulging or herniation . The presence of pus proves the presence of infection and thus causing more inflammation or swelling and pressing on your cervical spinal nerve roots and cause such pain . Maintain a healthy clean wound by adding topical antibiotics with clean dry dressings and NSAIDs like Advil tab to decrease that infection .
