Can Ovarian Cysts Cause Menstrual Irregularities?

I am 28 years old woman, married since almost three years. I was taking OCP's (Femilon) for the past one and half years. And one month I stopped the pill, I started having periods for one days only. What causes can I do to bring on a normal period? and just do my blood test and ultra sound test.Doctor told me I have 1.5 mg cyst in my ovary. I am worried since we would like to plan for pregnancy now.

Hi,

I have gone carefully through your concerns and understood your query. After stopping contraceptive pills it may take 3 to 6 months to the hormonal level to get normalised. So you should wait and your menstrual cycle will get back to normal for some months. There is no need to worry about infertility. The cyst is too small to be considered problematic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mirjeta
