Can Over Dose Of Paracetamol Causes Lips To Turn Blue?
Hello. I had a cold and took some pills that had paracetamol in them. Last pill was taken at 3pm, there were about 3-4 hour gaps between taking them. At 7pm my body temperature just dropped suddenly, my lips turned blue. Could this have been paracetamol poisoning?
Paracetamol is one of the safest drugs in medicine. It is given for bringing down fever, for pain-reduction and for colds. A few tablets of paracetamol does not cause toxicity.
Paracetamol in very high doses > 3 gm in a healthy adult can cause paracetamol toxicity which may be asymptomatic/ manifest as nausea and vomiting/ cause liver toxicity. Paracetamol overdose does not cause lips to turn blue.
