Can Physiotherapy Help A Child Walk Post Chemotherapy?
My daughter who is 3 years old was diagonised with brain tumor when she was 3 months old and was operated at 3 months. Just few weeks back radiation theraphy was given to her. She can only stand but was never been able to walk. Can phsiotheraphy help her walk??
Dear I am sorry for the symptoms you daughter is suffering In my opinion you should try out absolutely physiotherapy because it is the only help you can give her and hope I think could be more helpful if you provide me a CT image Anyway physiotherapy is reccomended Best regards
Hi. The reason your daughter is unable to walk is probably because of the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Certain chemotherapy drugs cause weakness of nerves and muscles. Also, all this happened at a stage when a child learns to walk, which could not happen in her case. So, physiotherapy is less likely to help in her case. She is more likely to benefit from a good wholesome diet, nerve strengthening agents (Tab Neurobion Forte half tablet daily for a month)and adequate rest.
