Can Placement Of Stent For RCA Block Cause Positive Result For Kidney Transplant?

Hello my brother had in January 10/2015 a stent placement after he was found the RCA blocked. He has chronic renal failure and it is considered for kidney transplant but it was indicated by the transplant team to have a stress test as part of their routine. The tests was positive, but his cardiologist is assuring that it could be a false positive due to recent stent placement. Could this be true? or he has to be concerned about these results?

Hello,

History of cardiac surgery with stent placement sometimes can give false positive results on stress test. Although the doctors who are observing him, would likely repeat the test or perform some other tests to clear the doubt. After that only major surgery like kidney transplant can be performed.

So, I suggest talk to the doctors regarding this as they are well aware of his overall health and medical history, they will be taking necessary steps to avoid any complications before opting for the surgery.
