Can Plan B Medicine Avoid Pregnancy Even After Ovulation?

I recently had unprotected sex with my partner and my last period was on November 24th, I had sex on Sunday (December 4th) and I took a plan B pill that day just hours later. My period is very irregular but between my last period and the one before that (October 21st), the cycle was 28 days. I was ovulating (or at least I think I was) around the time I had sex, should the plan B pill protect me from pregnancy even though I ovulated ?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Plan B contain levonorgestrel progesterone hormone...

Even though you have ovulated it can effective in pregnancy prevention up to 95 to 96%...
Because it will alter uterine lining, hence although ovulation occurs, fertilized egg can't implanted

If your next period delay than USG and hcg detection done to rule out pregnancy (very unlikely)

Hope your concern solved

Consult gynecologist for examination and further discussion if needed

Take care
