Can Pneumonia Cause Any Heart Problem ?

I am a 72 year old female who has been sick with cough and shortness of breath for about six months. It has progressively getting worse. I have no energy at all. The Dr. got some blood work and a chest x-ray today and told me I have walking pneumonia. Prescribed antibodics and steroids. Also wants a cat scan of the lungs tomorrow. Can this type of pneumonia cause any heart problems?

Hi. Pneumonia wont cause heart problems. A log duration of lung disease like pneumonia will certainly have a reason which has to be identified and treated. Don't worry abt getting a heart disease now.take care.
