Hi There... I am very worried because in my urine test I have leukocytes 25 but My urine culture is negative. Also they check my Bladder and kidney everything ok just my bladder is little bit thicker ... Can it be related to a polyp that I have in my vagina and need to be removed???
Vaginal infection do predispose to urine infections. Polyps are vulnerable to get infected.
However if there are leuckocytes in urine then this indicates a urine infection. The polyp may have predisposed to it but now the infection is in the urine. The thickened bladder also points in the same direction [ cystitis or bladder infection]. The infection does not always give a positive culture test. For similar patients in my clinic I prefer a dose of antibiotic as there are leukocytes in significant number. Other measures are drink plenty of water to flush bacteria.
Kindly discuss with your doctor about the need of antibiotics and get them prescribed if possible as empirical antibiotics can be prescribed on suspicion even if the culture is negative.
