Can Polypoid Endometrium Be Cancerous ?
i had a hysteroscopy and d&c in march. the also did a smear test. i have been told i have polypoid endrometrium and a prolapse. have not had children have one leg and foot that is constantly swollen but gets worse just b4 due to start period and goes down when i start then gradually gets worse from mid cycle. just b4 i strt i get pain in my right kidney area that gets worse over night. have a lump in my vagina by my pelvic bone was due to go 2 consultant in a fortnight but have had a letter saying consultant has requested an earlier appointment. how long does it take for a smear test result 2 come back and can polypoid endrometrium be cancerous. i no its prob nothing but worried.

Hi ,
you have not mentioned your age.In advanced age , thick endometrium with polyps needs fractional currettage and smear or TCRE ( hysteroscopic resection ).The smear report should come within a week or so.You have mentioned prolapse and lump in vagina , it must be cystocoele or rectocoele ( descent of bladder or rectum ) but without examining one can not say what kind of lump it is.Regarding swelling in the leg and foot can be due to pressure symptoms and several other causes , it is better to wait for the result of smear.
