Can Presence Of Sleep Apnea Increase Premature Atrial Contractions?
I was diagnosed with frequent premature atrial contractions. I also have obstructive sleep apnea. Can the sleep apnea interfere or be a serious problem if I m not wearing my mask and have severe apnea? What is the correlation between the two if any? Could the apnea have been a cause? Can the apnea cause the PAC to be more serious?

Sleep apnea can lead to gross cardiac disturbances if not promptly treated.It can lead to premature atrial contractions and ectopics.Sleep apnea can be accurately assessed through Polysomnography.Continuous positive airway pressure is an excellent treatment option to control the chest symptoms.A baseline EKG can detect the type of conduction disturbances.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
