Can Prilosec Prevent The Acid Reflux Caused By Benedryl?
doctor i wish to take benedryl for sleeping but i have heard this drug can cause stomach pain if taken on a chronic basis. question will prilosec prevent or limit the acid i may pump if i should get some reaction to benedryl. naturally i will also consult my own doctor.

Yes, prilosec should help a bit in reducing the acid production that is provoked by benedryl.
However, it will not reduce the acid refluxing back into lower esophagus.
So, you still may have symptoms of reflux even on prilosec. For this, you need to take a prokinetic drug like domperidone or levosulpride along with prilosec.
Taking benadryl after food might just reduce the insult and may alleviate pain.
