Can Prolonged Use Of Duvadilan Tablet During Pregnancy Cause Fetal Harm?

Hello, I have conceived through IVF. I had bleeding at 6 week for which I was prescribed duvadilan tablet 10 mg tds till 12 weeks. Again at 16 weeks I had mild cramping for which I was put on duvadilan retard twice daily. Now I have completed 26 weeks. My question is that should I continue the tablets. Can they cause Peripartum cardiomyopathy.

Duvadilan is used in the treatment of premature labor (when the uterus starts contracting for birth too early than usual). It is also helpful in the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases. You should get routine check up done by your gynecologist. Accordingly you will be suggested to continue or stop taking duvadilan. Follow the instruction of your treating Gynae. Since you have conceived through IVF, baby is precious and your treating Gynae will give medicines that is good for you and your baby.

If you are having symptoms like palpitations, dizziness or any other symptoms, you should urgently inform your treating gynae so that medical aid can be given to you. Stay at rest. Do not do any heavy work. Take home made nutritious food. Avoid doing intercourse till delivery. Avoid stress, anxiety and tensions. Take quality sleep.
