Can Prolonged Use Of Solpadeine Cause Acid Reflux And Weight Gain?

I have been taking solphadine daily for over 20 years started with 4 tabs (2pks) a day to 6tab(3pks) to recently 10 tabs (5pks). There is no reason for me to take them if I get a headache I would tale.somethingelse for it. Every so often I get a bad bout of acid reflux first time it happened was 2yrs ago scared me the pain. Dr told me to give up the solphadine but that I didnt have a bad habit so guess what that was when the dose increased. since then the bouts of reflux habe been more frequent every 3mths. Last bout happened before xmas and yesterday. I am over weight but tackling it. I have two questions Can prolonged use of Solohadine cause Acid Reflux and as I am loosing my weight shape through exercise does that cause reflux? Thanks Elaine

Solpadeine contain codeine is addictive. It is an opiate like morphine, like heroin. You can get a dependence on it from these products if you take them regularly. Codeine should only ideally be taken when administered by a doctor or for very severe pain but as it is available over the counter is open to abuse.
Switch to a painkiller without codeine if you take pain relief regularly or go see a doctor if you have persistent pain.
What do you take them for? This medicine is for the short term
treatment of acute moderate pain,
when other painkillers do not work .
You should only take this product for a maximum of 3 days at a time. If you need to take it for longer than 3 days you should see your doctor or
pharmacist for advice.
This can give you withdrawal symptoms from the medicine when you stop taking it.,
Consult your family doctor to withdraw this medicine soon ,
Take treatment for acid reflux & weight gain.
