Can "malarone" Tablets Be Taken For Malaria Prevention During Pregnancy?

Hello. I have recently found out I am pregnant, however I am due to travel to Kenya in 2 weeks time, on holiday. I have already been prescribed Malarone tablets, for prevention of malaria. Prior to finding out I was pregnant. Can I still take this medication? Or do you recommend alternative? Or am I too late to take any type of alternative medication?

HELLO DEAR
I understand your concern , since malarone contain atovaquone and proguanil since these are not recommended by CDC , HENCE malarone is not safe for pregnancy especially in first trimester. I would advice to take chloroquine instead of malarone for chemo prophylaxis . ALL THE BEST
Thanks
