Can Rash Around Mouth, Extremely Dry Lips Producing Clear Fluid Be Stress Related?

I recently lost my job and it seems that since I became unemployed I have had this strange rash around my mouth along with extremely dry lips that are producing clear fluid. This is painful and bothersome and I can t figure out what the problem is. I have seen a nurse practitioner at the Urgent Care and was given predisone and Acyclvir and told it was stress-related but I don t have insurance and can t afford to lay games. Can you help?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems that you might be infected with bacterial or viral infection or having an allergic reaction that is causing rashes around mouth and excessive drying of lips along with fluid discharge. It is difficult to come to a confirmed conclusion regarding the condition unless it is examined physically and blood tests done.

I would advise you to go for blood test to determine complete blood count so that we can have an indication towards possible bacterial/viral infection or allergies. You can visit a dentist with the report after the results come. The reports along with physical examination of the area will give an idea about treatment line.
