Can Red Or Brown Spotting Be Caused By Birthcontrol?
In the last few months I started with the birthcontrol NuvaRing. I did not let myself withdrawl bleed last minth, and just immidiately put the new ring in. The last 3 weeks or so I have had daily spotting. Sometimes it is bright red and sometimes it is brown. Could this be from the bc or something else? I am waiting on a Gonorreah and Clamydia test to come back. I am trying not to worry too much, but is it likely to just be the hormones from the ring?
Nuvaringhormonal BC ring may cause spotting, breakthrough bleeding between periods. It is commonly seen in the first few cycles. It will go away by itself once the body adjusts with the hormonal changes. If the symptoms are due to STI, you will need antibiotics & antivirals. Consult your treating doctor as soon as your STD reports come. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid sex for a couple of days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
