Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m almost 48 and think I may be starting menopause. I was born in Vietnam and have hepatitis B through birth. My palms, or the outer edges have been red for the last couple of months. Was wondering if this could be from menopause or if I should be worried about my liver?
I think you should get your liver checked. Taking count that you suffer hepatitis B from birth you need to check the liver function. It can be a symptom of liver cirrhosis. I don't think it can be related to menopause because the estrogen levels should be evaluated to cause red palms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
