Hi, my name is Patricia and my husband s name is Jack. He has RED WELTS (30-40) all over his LEGS top to bottom. There are also red welts (6 or 7) at his waistline. He is at our daughter s house right now visiting in NE Kansas. He pulled some weeds in their yard for 10-15 minutes maybe 2 or 3 days ago, but other than that, he hasn t been outside in grass, weeds, etc. He has been sleeping in her basement while there but hasn t seen any kind of bug whatsoever. They have NO PETS. Our daughter has had an infestation of little black ants that seem to come in somewhere in the kitchen. There have been a few spotted in the basement even after the house was sprayed. The welts ITCH, of course. He took some benedryl. He s reluctant to go to the doctor or an urgent care because he just got on Medicare (age 65) and I don t think he s read the material yet. Besides, it s the weekend and he doesn t have a doctor in her town. I told him to look for RED STREAKS and BULLSEYE CIRCLES. I don t want him to go into anaphalaxis and ignore the beginning symptoms of it like he did for angina he was having for three or four months, which ended in a heart attack. Other than still not eating well, he s in fair health. Because we re planning to move there (I m staying behind to sell the house), he is working. His job is to transport Medicaid (KanCare) patients from their homes to doctors appointments and back, take them home from the hospital because they don t have a ride. Some of these trips are long. Is it possible that a patient had had fleas from their pet and the little monsters decided to bite him too? I m just grabbing at straws at this point. Can you please tell me the things this could possibly be and what he should do about it? I m sure he s miserable. Thank you.
