Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Okay ! So I m a 19 year old female and I got a huge break out of cold sore above and below my Mouth ! I believe it s clearing up I have very dry skin and a little bit of redness and bumps what steps should I take ? There s a bump underneath my eye could it be a cold sore ?
I can understand your concern. As you have sores present around mouth and eyes, there is a good chance that you might be infected with herpes simplex virus. This infection requires prompt treatment with antiviral medications and as it is contagious, you will have to take scrupulous care not to infect other areas and people around you with this virus.
I would advise you to visit a physician, dermatologist, dentist or ophthalmologist as soon as possible for the examination of the sores and investigations like blood tests. Based on the results, treatment can be started.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
