Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Remylin Be Used With Metformin 500mg To Control Blood Sugar?
Iam taking metformin 500 mg and glimepride 1mg daily to control my blood sugar and it is controlled with this ,my doctor has advised me to take one tab. of Remylin daily in addition to the medicine which I am taking already, will it be helpfulto me to better control my blood sugar.
I am of the opinion that Remylin consists of vitamin B6 and B12 which is important for replenishment of vitamin B resources as it can delay complications of diabetes like peripheral neuropathy.
There fore your doctor has correctly advised you to take this tablet as a supportive treatment to diabetes. However, it has no effect on blood sugar levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
