Can Safflower Seed Oil Be Consumed For Hypercholesterolemia?
What kind of feed back have you received on the benefits of Safflower oil? Cholesterol is high and I have been struggling to drop belly fat. I ve been on simvastatin but Dr. wants to change to Crestor (I am aware of the blood thining possibilities) but need some immediately relief from the weight. Is the conflict to high to use both? Dr. refuses to talk to me about this and says if I want weight loss go out and walk instead of eating, Only it hurts to walk, to much weight on the knees. 10 pounds would make a huge difference.
Though safflower seed oil can help to some extent in the hypercholesterolemia, but following are golden rules for best results
- regular walking, allowable exercises
- control of body weight
- avoidance of spices, non veg, junk foods, dairy fat
- switching over to another anti lipid medication
- quit smoking if involved
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
