Can Scraping Of The Shin Cause Bruised And Swollen Skin?

Hi I, leaned in my van two days ago and scrapped very slightly my shin, just felt like you run your nail on your arm slightly, so didn t hurt and didn t think nothing of it, about 3 secs later, my shin was stinging like I got stung by some thing, looked down and the vein stuck up so big and was really think half way down my shin and really hurt I was trying to massage it, and it stated to calm down after about 5mins, but could point my toes or anything or touch it as it really hurt, not the pain is gone and I noticed today a really bad bruise half way down my shin, and thick around around my shin, is this normal, is there anything to worry about?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It does sound like an urticarial rash where any trigger or stimulus can give you itching with raised wheals. It also could be a skin infection caused due to the metal edges of the van. I suggest you first get it reviewed by the concerned doctor/dermatologist. You need to take a tetanus injection first. The doctor could start you on some oral and topical antibiotics. If it is urticaria he will start you on some anti allergic medications.
