Can Semen Be Stored In Refrigerator And Tested For STD The Next Day?
Hi, I have being in a relationship for 12 months now. I have being using protection during sex since when we tested. However my boyfriend wants to go without protection but I will not let him.;Only if he agrees to take a blood test with me which he refuses to. My question now is: Right after sex, can I remove the condom for my boyfriend, tied it up and place it in the refrigerator. And the next day can I take it to my private doctor for testing? Will this work and provide me information on his blood and let me know if its safe to have unprotected sex with him through my physician response?

Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that you have to undergo blood test rather than semen analysis for the STD profile. There are some infections like HIV, HbsAg, VDRL & HCV which is routinely prescribed to check for the STD. Some others like gram staining of discharge from penis is also prescribed if the patient has complaint of discharge. But routinely semen analysis for STD purpose is not prescribed.
