Can Sharp Pain In The Left Quadrant Of The Abdomen Be A Sign Of A Strained Abdominal Muscle?

I had sudden onset sharp left lower quadrant pain while doing yoga yesterday (abdomen stretched significantly) and today it is more of a burning pain that now had begun to radiate to my left upper back and shoulder. Could this be just a strain of the abdominal muscle since began during stretch of abdominal wall?
