Can Side Effects Of Fentanyl Be Treated?

Hi my husband has renal cell carcinoma and because of too much pain he is using fentanyl since one month ago .Unfortunately he got some side effect such as severe muscle weakness,swelling leg,skin sour and throat sour. I asked the doctor to cut off the drug and they did .I want to know are the side effects especially muscle weakness reversible or not and if it is yes how much is taking time? Thanks, Fatima

Muscle weakness is mostly reversible after 1-2 weeks on stopping fentanyl.
He should drink oral rehydration solution (ORS) for quick recovery.
He should also drink plenty of fluids orally and keep himself hydrated.
