Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is there any way sinus tachycardia can be related to my acne? I ve had both for years (6-7 years) and doctors told me that it was all because of puberty. Which of course can be true but what are chances that those two are symptoms and if I ll have a right diagnosis, it can be cured. Acne is so painful, sometimes I can t even rest my had on a pillow if it s touching my skin; and having sinus tachycardia + arrhythmia (100-110 + bpm) isn t pleasant either. So both of them have making me hate myself for years. Which doctor should I see first and what should I ask them to get the answer that not includes oh, it s because of puberty, it s nothing
Since the acne is painful and pain can cause alterations in the heart rate, you may want to consider having this assessed first.
That may be best assessed by a dermatologist or doctor who specializes in skin disorders.
After the acne is appropriately treated, then you can consider an ECG to take a look at the heart rate along with blood tests to rule out anemia or high thyroid hormone levels. Both of these can also affect the heart rate.
I hope this helps
