Can Sinusitis Cause Left Sided Pain Near Eyes And Back Of The Head?
Dear Sir, My wife is having headache for last 2 months which arises near left eye and left middle and left back portion of head. My Physician recommended x-ray, which confirmed bilateral sinusitis and nasal polyp. I want to kwow, can headache arising from sinusitis and nasal polyp can happen in the left back side and left middle side of the head?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Sinusitis and nasal polyp can cause pain in eyes and back of the head. It depends on which sinuses are affected. In fact, nasal polyps can aggravate sinus symptoms as it blocks the outflow of mucous causing stagnation and stretching of sinus mucosa leading to referred pain in head regions. Hence, the solution is first treatment of symptoms of aches and infection by means of antibiotics and analgesics. Following this, removal of nasal polyps by an operative procedure called 'polypectomy'. Kindly take proper advise and treatment from ENT Surgeon in this regard. All the best.
