Can Skin Pain Caused By Surgery Take Time To Heal?
Had a lobe of my left lung removed about two weeks ago and now the skin on my upper chest is extremely sensitive. Wearing a shirt or a light touch of my hand in that area produces pain which feels like the skin is raw although there areno signs of anything abnormal, no rash, no bruise, etc. is this normal and how long can I. Expect this to continue?
As during lung surgery, a long incision is given few nerves in the skin gets cut. So, you feel a different sensation over the skin. But gradually over 6 to 9 months, it heals in maximum patients.
It may also be there for long. Do not worry, and please visit your surgeon or Derma for having some medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
