Can Sleep Deprivation Cause Chest Pain?

ive been staying up late and am very tired but still want to stay up to the degree i subconsciously ignore my need for sleep sometimes and just keep going , now i was having this intense feeling in my chest it was a slightly dull and also sharp at the same time as far as pain and my heart was beating out of my chest in a sense and so i thought i was riled up over something and took a few breaths and calmed down and i was fine and now its back , the short question is am i okay?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is unlikely to be due to sleep deprivation. Consult a physician and get evaluated. On a safer side, you can opt for an ECG to look for cardiac causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
