Can Sodium Hydroxide Cause COPD And Scarring Of Lungs?

Hi I have used paint stripper on heavy equipment I work at a catterpillar paint shop used sodium hydroxide tomixed in water solution to mist on machines then wash off with high pressure steam I have serious copd and scarring on my lungs I vedone this for 15 years i m currently fighting workers comp and they say my copd is from cig smoking 25 years I quit smking 12 years ago any support would be most appreciated thanks Tony

In your case both the etiological factor had played role. cigarette smoking and fumes of sodium hydroxide. they both by inhaling damaged the respiratory mucosa. take regular treatment. and avoid both this factors. thnx
