Can Soreness And Pain Next To A Wisdom Tooth Be Treated By Antibiotics?
i got my teeth clean a few days ago because they thought that would help with my swollen gums and a hurt tooth. Now i have a sore next to a wisdom tooth and and it hurts and swollen.. my throat is sore and my ear feels funny. Should i ask for anitbotics?
Hi..Can understand your concern..As per your query about soreness and pain next to your wisdom teeth can be due to pericoronitis which is caused due to inflammation of gums(gingivitis)which causes loss of attachment of gingivae from tooth and helping in food lodgement in the space and proliferation of bacteria causing pain around the tooth ,usually it occurs around the wisdom teeth if it is not fully erupted .Also loss of accessibility of tooth brush to reach upto wisdom tooth and clean it properly can lead to it..Since you are also having sore throat and ear sensitivity you need antibiotics like amoxicillin with analgesic paracetamol .In addition to this you need to do hot saline rinses for 4-5 times daily. It will help in reducing the inflammation..You need to consult a dentist for proper evaluation and treatment (removal of lodged food and irrigation)to get permanent relief.I hope the information helps you.I will be glad you further if any query..Take care.
