Can Soreness In The Vaginal Area Be Indicative Of An STD?

Hi i have a question. How long does it take for an STD to show symptoms? I recently had sex with someone other than my partner and now i have been itching really bad and really sore in my vaginal area. Now it s starting to hurt when i do have sex with my partner. I decided to douche to see if it d help and it started stinging really bad. I have alot of redness in that area as well. I haven t been to my doctor yet since i wasn t sure how long it takes for symptoms to start. Please help me.

hello

the symptoms described by you do indicate an infection , whether it's an STD or not, can only be confirmed after a histopathological and clinical examination. But in the meantime, you are advised to not engage in sexual activities with your partner, see a gynaecologist for a vaginal swab examination . for now you can start with Tab Fluconazole 150mg one single dose, V wash thrice a day, Tab Metrogyl 400 twice a day x 3 days, if symptoms do not regress, please see a gynaecologist for full blood and local workup
