Can Soreness, Red And Swollen Glands Be Due To Tonsillitis?

Im not sure, but I think I may have Tonsillitis, I have had it mildly before, basically I have a very sore throat, my tonsils are red and my glands are swollen, its hard to swallow, also the insides of my cheeks feel sort of slimy? the only way I could think to explain it, the roof of my mouth also sort of hurts too. Also feel slightly week and my muscle are a bit achy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Aches and pain, sore throat are signs and symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection.

In most cases, the infection is due to a viral rather than bacterial infection.

The main treatment is symptomatic, this means treatment directed at symptoms only.
Treatment: (1)oral gargles/lozenges/sprays for the sore throat. Examples are chloroseptic, diflam, bethadine

(2)fluids and rest

(3)paracetamol for joint and muscle pain

I hope this helps
