Can Spinal Stenosis In The Lumbar Region Cause Inability To Sleep?
I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis in the lumbar region. Could that be the cause of my inability to sleep thru the night? Pain is always thru my butt and leg to my knee area. Even taking painkillers doesn t work. Hurts to turn over and worse to sit up and get out of bed . But after I limp about a few steps or so it eases and still painful allows me to stand more upright.
Pain can certainly cause problems with sleep. the location and movement of a pain gives clues as to what is going on, and the timing of the sleep problem in relation to the pain (when each occurred in the past) would be a clue on the cause of a sleep issue. I cannot say in your particular case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
