Can Spot On Lung Diagnosed As Cancer Be Developed Within 6 Months?

Yes Please My husband had renal cancer. Doctor remove kidney 2 1/2 years ago. he has been getting reg. check ups and ct scans. This month we were told a spot on his lung was cancer. It is the size of a quarter and were told it wasn t there 6 months ago. How was this missed?

It is possible that during previous tests the malignancy was so small that it escaped the diagnosis. Cancer usually takes long time to develop, but some can develop comparatively rapid. It may also be possible that this cancer is because of secondaries in lung from cancer of other sites. Whatever the cause he should go for treatment immediately. May god bless your husband.
