Can Stents In The Heart Have An Effect Due To Air Travel?

I have stents in my lower aorta and femoral arteries. four time the stents have occluded and required maintenance. for sure, 3 of these four times have happened after air travel in commercial air liners. Since stents are rigid, could the pressurization and depressurization in the plane cause micro wounds around the stents that leads to scar tissue?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if stents in the heart have an effect due to air travel . Usually if a person has undergone an angioplasty where a stent is placed in heart arteries, then a waiting period of one week is recommended before flight travel. The period immediately following the stent procedure carries a high risk of clot formation and air travel during this period would increase the risk further . If you have already counter proble after air traveling before , then would suggest you to consult cardiologist before planing for air travel .
