Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had 6 days of steroids and a week later a cortisone
shot to try to help with my tendinitis in my ankle. I just had an EKG and now am scheduled for an Eco and stress test as I was told my EKG was irregular.
Never had a problem before. Could the steroids and shot have affected my heart?
After going through your medical details, I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that there can be arrhythmia due to excessive use of steroids which require basic cardiac evaluation.
It’s recommended to get the advised tests done and consult a physician for physical evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
