Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a mild hernia in the stomach and acid-reflux. I do not feel full. It feels like my stomach is empty. I eat well taking eggs and tofu and lot of veg. and fruits. I feel weak and loosing a lot of hair. I feel fogginess in the head and lack of interest. I am right now taking synthroid, omez-d, seroquel and zyprexa. I have a veg. diet. I am taking vitamins. Please tell me how I can improve my health and outlook. I do yoga and meditation. I am married and have two children ages 20 and 15.
Dear, I understand your concern. Many people with hiatal hernia have no symptoms, but others may have heartburn related to gastroesophageal reflux disease. Your complaints are related to the effects of treatment with synthroid, the potential minor side effects when taking this medication are:changes in appetite (increased appetite) or changes in weight, and temporary hair loss. While using Synthroid, you may need frequent medical tests, and an endocrinologist consultant to fix the dosage. All the best.
