Can Stomach Pain, diarrhea And Nausea Cause Drop In Iron Level?

My daughter has an Iron level of 9 H&H is 8 and 27. She has had this before and the Dr tried to get her to take iron pills. She has a chronic issue with stomach pains, diarrhea and nausea. When she trys to take the iron pills they make her sick. I finally have talked them into an iron infusion. Can you tell me what possible stomach problems can cause her iron level to drop so low. She has no blood in her stool and has not thrown up any blood. Thanks

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your daughter and it is really matter of concern to know the underlying cause of iron deficiency and for that certain investigation may needed like imaging study of abdomen, stool culture sensitivity, routine blood test, some kind of chronic infection could be the reason for this, hope this information helps, take care.
